With the highlight of the event brainstorming on the white sandy beaches, and that being ruined by the environmental disaster, the event is postponed indefinitely (i.e., canceled).

Plans are already underway for SIMPLE 2 in September.

In addition, an alternative virtual training program will be offered in June.

After you register for your ticket, you’ll need to make your arrangements for your hotel. As you do this, you may be tempted to shop around for the “best deals” for area hotels. I’d like to request you skip that hassle and stay at the event hotel.

Here are a few ways you benefit:

1) More connections! You’ll be able to hang out more with the other attendees at the event if you stay at the hotel. Instead of trudging back (or even driving longer distances late at night), you can spend that time having one last conversation that could result in an amazing joint venture opportunity. I’d hate for you to miss out because you saved $20 on a hotel on the other side of the island!

2) Beach chairs! Each guest at our hotel gets 2 beach chairs and an umbrella free of charge on our private beach area in front of the hotel. If you don’t stay with us, you can’t use that area without paying $25 each day.

3) Free parking at the hotel! If you aren’t a guest at the hotel, they may ask you for $10/day or so to park your car at the hotel – and there aren’t too many extra spots.

4) Sleep in! Since you’ll just be able to head downstairs to join us for breakfast, you can use that extra travel time to recover from the night before.

5) Night-time quiet! One of the reasons I specifically picked this hotel was because it’s away from the main drag where most of the louder tourists stay. There’s no traffic at night, and the hotel does not allow guests under 24 without a parent or guardian. That means no wild college parties!

6) Kids activities! Another reason I picked this hotel is they have a kids program (for 5-12 year olds). Although I wouldn’t recommend you leave your kids in their care during the entire daytime sessions, they do have staff and activities. They also have a small game room, and two pools onsite.

7) Help me fulfill my obligations with the hotel! I know this is more for my benefit than you, but in all seriousness, I need to meet a certain number of room nights as part of our negotiated contract. Without the minimum numbers, they can’t provide the discounted rate for the entire group. And the other fees that are part of the event would also go up. I’ve been able to get them to cut their rooms by $20 or more per night during their highest season!

So make sure you get your room booked after you register your ticket. I’ll be sending you the exact name of the hotel, the phone number to call for reservations, and the group code to get the group rate. I’ll send this to you via email right after you’ve registered and confirmed your email.

p.s. I’ve gone to a lot of events, and every time I’ve stayed away from the event hotel, I’ve regretted not reserving a room there. Don’t make that mistake – stay at our event hotel!
